PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Most of the cities have a common problem–the existence of street children. In the last decade, this phenomenon has grown at an alarming rate particularly in Asia, Africa and Latin America. The problem is related to many factors such as acute poverty, urban migration, homelessness, civil war. The book has analyzed occupations and activities where the children involved, their working environment and wages, involvement in education project and finally the impact of education on their life. The study has made some case studies which reveal their strategies for survival within the urban settings. No doubt, street children are the inevitable part of the urban life. The book has revealed many hidden issues of the life and struggle of street children in a developing country like Bangladesh. The aim of the research was to understand the underlying causes of their present life, the impact of education to improve their life and how visible efforts can at least provide basic education to the deprived children. The findings of the study, in various ways, can be replicated in other cities for ensuring a better life for the street children.
